Vlocity Hopper Review

By Spencer Karns

Its finally here ladies and gentlemen. Finally a loader than combines the speed of a Halo and the weight of a Revolution: perfection! So what can this hopper do? Is it just another marketing gimmick?

I awaited eagerly for my Vlocity to arrive. Finally, the folks at UPS brought my package and I was ecstatic. The Vlocity is a gorgeous work of art, but it is also very functional. My first observation is that the hopper looks very much like the Halo, but it’s a little taller and a litte shorter than the Halo.

After reading the manual, I decided to just run the hopper with the preset speed settings. After I was finished running the speed test, I attempted to open the lid of the hopper. At first, opening the lid was rather difficult, but you will eventually break it in.

I filled the hopper with 194 balls including the feed neck. I used Nelson Anarchy paint. I flipped the switch and the paint just barreled out of the hopper. I mean it came flying out of the neck. Unlike the Halo, which at times feeds in bursts, the Vlocity feeds with consistency, ball after ball, not bursts of balls. After this I loaded both the Halo and the Vlocity and timed them. The Vlocity was clearly faster than the Halo by a few seconds.

The marker this hopper was tested on was a smart parts 2004 Shocker with Nerve Board. The board was set to max ramp (avg. 24 bps). I’ve never fired it this fast because I knew my Halo couldn’t keep up. However, the Vlocity kept up nicely and stuck with it till the hopper emptied.

I have found the Vlocity to be superior to the Halo and other hoppers in every category. It looks great, delivers well, is very fast, and has a nice profile.
